Fifa 08 Community Day!
Well, it just happens to be that time of year again. What time, you ask? Time for the newest Fifa release, of course!
Having been introduced to soccer (football everywhere other than the US) during the World Cup last year, you can imagine my surprise to get an invite to last year’s Fifa event. This one was no different, as I was lucky enough to get invited up to EA Canada in Vancouver for another go-round with the mammoth franchise.
Starting off my day bright and early at 6 a.m. EST, my first flight left Orlando at 8:30 a.m. The extremely short layover in Denver, CO was just long enough for me to grab a snack and get to the next flight, which landed in Vancouver, BC at 1:10 p.m.
I made my way to the hotel, got checked and settled in, and immediately went scouring the town. ProTip: When leaving Florida at any time of year, ensure you pack a jacket. Not having one had the fantastic side effect of walking around the town, figuring out the area. Within an hour, I had found a mall and purchased a long sleeved shirt perfect for walking around Vancouver.
Afterwards, i made my way back to the hotel and found Rich, who was at last year’s event. We hung out for the remainder of the day, catching dinner at the mall then touring Vancouver for a bit.
Next up: The Big Day!
