Activision purchases Bizarre Creations

When you think of the word ‘unexpected’, this situation definitely fits!

In a bizarre move (pun intended), Activision has purchased Bizarre Creations – developers of the famed Project Gotham Racing and Geometry Wars franchises.

Many will wonder where their favorite racing series will go from here, myself included, but with Microsoft Game Studios on the job, you can rest assured there will be another PGR. The question now, though, is will it be the same? Without the same team at the helm, the game would never be the same.

Another good question to ask is how soon are we to see a Bizarre Creations game on a PS3? Since Activision is notorious for multi-platform development, I’m interested to see how soon Bizarre can get comfortable with coding for the Cell.

Ah, so many questions and so few answers! Expect to see the first title bear fruit in fiscal year 2009.
