2K Games Announces Mafia 2 In Development

After a serious wait, 2K Games announced today that Mafia 2 is currently being developed.

You may better know Mafia as one of the games that made the “gangster game” genre a bit more popular than before, selling over 2 million copies worldwide.

Having never played the original, I can see myself on a trip to GameStop to find it and give it a play through. Can’t go all willy-nilly into the sequel if you haven’t played the original, right?

If you’re curious as to which console it’s expected on, the following quote should ease your mind:

The game is being developed by Illusion Softworks, developers of the original Mafia title, for next generation consoles and Games for Windows®.

So expect it on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. What are your thoughts? Are you ready for the continuation of the Mafia storyline?
