Project Sylpheed Goes Gold and gets Xbox Live DLC
If you thought Microsoft would downplay the importance of getting a SquareEnix game aboard the Xbox 360, you could be just a little but crazy. To prove they’ve got the mettle, they’ve released a TON of info for the title.
I wouldn’t be surprised to find a lot of sneaky RPG elements sprinkled throughout this one. Here’s the XBL info:

So, not only is this title from SquareEnix, have a trailer available on the Marketplace, and a demo available on the Marketplace, it only costs $39.99. That’s forty bucks. That’s $20 cheaper than the vast majority of 360 titles.
It also guarantees my purchase. Half because it looks awesome, but also because I’d like to see more SquareEnix games on the Xbox 360 and this seems more like a test to see if the US audience is up for this kind of game. It’s definitely not the kind of title you’d expect from SE, but the fact that they’re developing a title on the 360 other than Final Fantasy XI means I’m interested.
Look what happened with Dead Rising. Capcom wouldn’t be developing Dead Rising 2 without the first doing so fantastically, so the more copies this game sells directly coincides with the chances of other SquareEnix titles releasing on the Xbox 360.
If you thought that was all, you’d be sorely mistaken. It was also announced that the title has gone gold – which means it isn’t long before we see it in stores. You can check out the press release at the media alert over at Gamerscore Blog.
