Universe At War to Attack Xbox 360 in Early 2008

The thought crossed my mind earlier that there may not be enough realtime strategy games on the Xbox 360…

Enter Petroglyph to calm my mind…

Developed by Petroglyph, Universe at War is an RTS that features more customisation than is good for anyone, numerous multiplayer features, and a near-future Earth under siege by aliens. That last one’s obviously the made-up story and not real.

Universe at War: Earth Assault for PC is due this Christmas while the Xbox 360 version won’t be with us until early 2008.

There isn’t a better word to describe this other than the following: Awesome!

It seems the Xbox 360 is becoming a second home for RTS titles – something I can admit to have never expected from a console. After playing LotR: Battle for Middle Earth II and Command & Conquer: Tiberium Wars for the 360, on top of anxiously awaiting Halo Wars, this can only lead to more RTS goodness over Xbox Live!

On top of everything else, the game looks to involve mechs of some sort… I’m eager to play this one just to see how that orks into the storyline!
