SOCOM: Confrontation info
Officially announced at Sony’s Gamers Day, SOCOM is indeed heading towards the PS3 sometime this fall. The game is being handled by Slant Six who are also handling SOCOM: Tactical Strike for the PSP.
The big deal here is that SOCOM will be playable only online. This game will be available both as a download and on Blu-ray. It will support up to 32 players complete with clan support, clan ladders, leaderboards, tournaments and more.
A new ability will be for characters to customize the look of their character and clan leaders will be able to set up the basic uniform for their clan while each member can adjust certain aspects to keep their unique appeal.
Content packs are expected which will contain new modes, weapons, maps and whatever else they fill like throwing in.
Are you thrilled that SOCOM is online only? I’ve never really played SOCOM that much so as long as they deliver a good game I’m happy. But I love single player expericences so I don’t want this to become a trend because I like playing by myself from time to time.
