Music download service coming to Xbox 360

A source close to Microsoft explains:

“In Microsoft’s attempts to make the Xbox 360 even more of a digital hub, and hopes of boosting sales of the Zune digital music player, Microsoft will soon be launching a kind of Zune Marketplace on the Xbox 360. In order to use it, you will first be required to subscribe to the service—roughly $15 for one month, and $45 for three months.

While the prices seem steep, keep in mind that you are getting unlimited access to the entire collection of music offered to Zune users.”

Do you know anybody who owns a Zune? Off-topic a bit but are you willing to pay this for an unlimited amount of music when you can still get music for free via illegal downloading like most people do which is also unlimited?

I don’t think people will really take to this. Since you have to renew your service ever one or three months which is really going to add up by the end of the year. It would be $180 for the one month deal and $180 for the three month deal, no difference at all. I’ll hang onto my money thank you.
