GRAW 2 Throwback Pack on XBL

I hope I’m not alone in this, but I tend to get a bit nostalgic when playing in a good match of Ghost Recon. Sometimes I reminisce about the awesome maps I used to play in past GR games — and what I would do if ever given the chance to revisit those maps in the new game.

Apparently, UbiSoft knows what I’ve been thinking. Meet the GRAW2 Throwback Pack…

Name:
GRAW2 Throwback Pack
Price:
800 Points
Availability:
All Xbox Live regions
Dash Details:
Play 7 of your favorite Ghost Recon maps re-mastered.

The maps are as follows:

  • Bonfires from GR2
  • Desert Gulch from GRAW
  • Fishing Village from GRAW
  • Jungle Mines from GRAW
  • Mountain Base from GR2SS
  • Mountain Falls from GR2
  • and Peninsula from GR2

Now I’m not sure whether to be happy or sad about this map pack. As much as I love those maps – they’re a mixture of maps from Ghost Recon, GR: Summit Strike, and GRAW – I don’t know if I want to spend 800 Points ($10) on them. I love the fact that they’re cheaper than the current “200 Points/Map” pricing scheme, but another $10 for a game I already spent $60 on is a little tough to swallow.

Maybe it wouldn’t bother me too much if I played GRAW2 every day and got more playtime out of it, but I haven’t completed the campaign – let alone play a decent amount of multiplayer.

The fact that these maps are quite literally a steal as far as Xbox Live pricing standards goes (which shows that the powers that be are at least paying attention to gamers’ wishes) intrigues me highly, but I think I’ll hold off until I get deeper into the multiplayer aspect of the game before I get this pack.

Besides, I have to fill my summer months with a good shooter to tide me over until H3 hits this fall!
