Microsoft admits problem with the Xbox 360

After thousands of complaints, during the Dutch television programme “Kassa”, Microsoft admitted that there is a flaw that causes CDs and DVDs that are spinning in the player to get damaged.

The cause of this problem is that this scratches occur from lack of bump pillows at the lens. According to the date from “Kassa” this would affect approximately 1 to 2 million Xbox 360 consoles.

Microsoft has offered help for people who have this problem. My problem is that Xbox 360 doesn’t seem to be built to well. People going through multiple systems, the system damaging game disc, this is not good for future buyers. I can only hope that Xbox 360 Elite has some of these problem solved. They didn’t change much about the system other then HDMI and a bigger hard drive so I’m skeptical about the system. For the price of any of these three consoles, you shouldn’t have to worry about these kind of problems.

I had to comment on this. I totally agree with what your saying about not having issues with a system that runs you about 500 bucks after you buy the other controller. All the next gen systems have major flaws. correction all the next gen system except the Wii have major flaws. Then again nintendo has been around sense the 80’s and sony and microsoft are new to the console game.

Anyway all that aside i’ve realized one thing that always holds true with technology. The more sophisticated the technology gets the worse the flaws are gonna get IMO the late great days of buying a console so you don’t have to deal with the stresses of upgrading your vid card every 6 months to a year or upgrading RAM like on your PC are now over. Consoles will become just as stressful if not more stressful than computers in everyway in the near future.

The real question is what do we as the consumer and they as the developer do about it?
