Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII more then three titles

In the recent issue of the Australian PlayStation Magazine April issue, they had an english interview with Motomu Toriyama. He talks about Final Fantasy XIII and that the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII project isn’t just PS3 and moble phone exclusives. Toriyama said:

“In fact, the Fabula Nova Crystallis Final Fantasy XIII project isn’t just limited to three titles – there are many different aspects. In terms of the formats we’re reaching, as well, it’s not simply exclusive to the PS3 and mobile phones. In Latin, Fabula Nova Crystallis means “New Crystal Story” and we’re using that as base for the project, but there are many characters and legends that are branching off from this main story and universe. It’s a hugh project.”

He goes on to talk a little bit about the battle system, the character Lightning, how they are utilizing the PS3 key features , whether to use online for XIII or not, if they plan on making mini-games for it or just release them as their own games, length of the story magazine tells you about the world of Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII they know so far.

This is not in the interview but Toriyama told Japanese magazine Dengeki that, “Final Fantasy XIII takes up the challenge of seeing how well the battles from Advent Children can be recreated in a game. Battles that were not possible to present in previous Final Fantasy games were shown in Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. On the other hand, Final Fantasy XIII will show who well that movie can be represented in a game.”

Final Fantasy XIII is sounding better every day. But what I would like to know is what other projects are they considering for Fabula Nova Crystallis and what medium will they be on, console or handheld. I do think its safe to say that Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII are PS3 exclusives. Click the scans at the bottom to read the interview, it’s a good read.
