Crackdown - Review (Xbox 360)
Crackdown

Conclusion

After playing through Crackdown, I have to admit that it’s a lot more game than I expected it to be. When it was announced that the Halo 3 Beta would be a part of the package, everyone expected Crackdown to be a sub-par game - why else would Microsoft pack in early access to Halo 3, right? I thought that too, and I couldn’t be more wrong. The Halo 3 Beta is a MAJOR bonus to Halo fans, but it definitely doesn’t distract from how fun this game truly is.

Crackdown takes the fun aspects of open-ended sandbox gameplay and amplifies them by ten. It’s as if they took the best aspects of Grand Theft Auto and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, dumped a good majority of the bad parts, and gave you free reign to destroy criminals in the most creative way possible. The story, while lacking depth to some, is complemented by the fact that you never get too caught up in it.

You’ll be too busy blowing stuff up to pay attention.

All in all, if you’re a fan of the sandbox genre, there should be no reason that you don’t own Crackdown - and that, my friends, is the GAMING truth…
