Hot, hot HOT! That’s how fans of the NFL 2K series feel right now after 2K Sports officially announced All-Pro Football 2K8.
Ever since 2004, when EA bought exclusive rights to the NFL License, fans of the series have been waiting with bated breath, hoping that Visual Concepts could somehow get back into football games. Well, they’ve just got their wish.
2K Sports is feeling like it wants to get off the sidelines as well. Today, the publisher announced that Visual Concepts is returning to football with All-Pro Football 2K8. The game is scheduled for release on “next generation video game systems” this summer.
“Football gamers have been awaiting the return of the 2K series,” said Visual Concepts president Greg Thomas. “All-Pro Football 2K8 will deliver an authentic next generation gridiron experience and we are happy to give fans another choice in the football category.”
So not only are they doing another football game, they’re releasing it in the summer. As long as it’s released before the end of August, they’d beat Madden 08 to the market. Combine that with the fact that it’s only being released on next-gen consoles and that 2K Sports has proven their mastery with last-gen consoles, and you have a football game that could do very well.
I’ll definitely be picking it up. Will you?
