Lame, PS3

Just when gamers started thinking “WowWow reviewsWow reviews, I don’t think I spent enough on my expensive game console”, Sony has announced a credit card reader add-on for the PlayStation 3.

The new PS3 firmware that was released this morning, version 1.5, includes support for swiping your credit card right into your console.

Wow… Just Wow. I’m not sure I know many people that would pay for an attachment made for them to spend more money. Luckily, this attachment is only planned for Japan as of now.

You’d think that adding in your card info to your PSN account would save it to the hard drive, but every add-on has it’s purpose, I guess.

PS3 Credit Card Reader

  • weird lol just so so weird. is this for faster purchases?
  • I find it funny, personally.

Spending money on an adapter meant EXPRESSLY to help you spend more money faster... HILARIOUS, lol.

I actually don't see this as a problem but just right now there really isn't much to use it for. I think if Microsoft did something like this it would work good since they have much more content to buy.

Also I think its good for people who don't like having to put in their credit card information they can just swipe and be on their way. If the Playstation store gets a lot of content I think people will consider buying it.
