In this year’s Dynasty mode, recruiting is much more involved. Rather then just hitting buttons until your next season approaches, you have recruiting challenges such as recruiting a certain type of player which when successful will boost your school pride. The only downside to Dynasty mode is that there is no import or export draft year this time around but next year should have it.
Another feature that I really like this year is that there’s a mini game you can play when waiting for the game to start. When head-to-head with a friend you shoot to earn points and the winner gets a momentum boost. When by yourself you shoot for a certain amount of points they want you to earn to get the momentum boost.
Since this is a college game, sound is very important. EA actually went to schools and recorded live fans, bands, cheerleaders and such during their game. So most of the sound you hear in the game is actual fans from real life, nothing made up. That’s a big plus since it gives it really is the college experience your hearing while playing the game.
EA implanted a brand new render engine into this year’s version of March Madness to give us graphics we can truly admire. It’s a pretty looking game. Online is brand new also and you can participate in ranked and unranked matches as well as customizable tournaments.
Those who like to edit the names of college players to the players’ actual names have the choice to do so, and you can also share your players with a friend with the EA Locker. They must be on your friend’s list though to share players.
NCAA March Madness 07 looks and plays good. To be honest I didn’t expect this title to be this good seeing how NBA Live 07 was, but March Madness blows it out of the water. If you’re a college fan, or better yet just a basketball fan that likes a good basketball game then please do yourself a favor and buy NCAA March Madness 07. This is a good game and I promise you that you will not be disappointed.
