Half-Life 2: Orange to ship in Two Flavors
Valve, in it’s supreme awesomeness, has announced that Half-Life 2: Orange is going to ship in two flavors: Orange and Black.
The Black Box is only available on PC and includes Half-Life 2: Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2. It retails for $39.99.
The Orange Box is available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and includes Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episodes One and Two, Portal and Team Fortress. It retails for a modest $59.99.
Now, it’d be a lot easier to like this if both the PC and consoles were getting the multiple boxes, but apparently only the PC users will get access to the Black box.
Having already played Half-Life 2 on the PC, it would be nice to get the option on the 360 – especially considering that a $40 price point for any Valve game on the 360 and PS3 would ignite sales into a frenzy, but even at $60 the deal you get is hard to pass up even if you’ve beaten HL2 elsewhere. Where else can you get a complete game, two of it’s older expansion packs, a new expansion pack, and a multiplayer pack?
Any way it goes, if you have a PC and have already played Half-Life 2 into the ground, the Black box should ease your wallet.
