Rainbow Six: Vegas Recieves AutoUpdate over XBL
Own Rainbow Six: Vegas? Play on Xbox Live much? If you answered yes to the previous questions, you’ll probably be happy to hear that there’s an AutoUpdate for RS: Vegas on XBL to clear up some of the multiplayer issues.
The next time you pop in Rainbow Six Vegas into your Xbox 360 (and you are connected to Xbox Live) you’ll be prompted to accept an auto update. The folks over at Ubi have posted details of what the AU contains over at their forums. Time for me to fire up the MP this weekend.
It’s good to see a game get such a crucial patch within a month of being on the market, but is this yet another patch that, for all intents and purposes, should’ve been caught in QA testing? Many players say yes, and i’m inclined to agree – that’s why this news is both awesome and lame at once. It’s awesome that the game got patched, but
This isn’t the first game to recieve a much-needed patch, and it surely won’t be the last. Unfortunately, now that our consoles have a viable storage medium, patches for crucial elements will always be a reality.
Saint’s Row suffered a similar problem, except it’s multiplayer portion was near-implayable because of faulty code. It’s just a matter of time until gamers start waiting to purchase games until updates and patches have been released, because this retail “Beta Testing” is beginning to get out of hand…
