Lost Planet Trailers hit Xbox Live

Lost Planet

Two new Lost Planet trailers hit Xbox Live Marketplace today, and apparently look better than the already-stellar version we saw at E3. The two trailers have another thing in common with some of the more recent trailers that some might be surprised to hear…

Name: Awakening Trailer
Price: Free
Available in: All Xbox Live Regions.
Dash Details: When a rogue band of Snow Pirates discovered him trapped in his Vital Suit under a veil of ice, his memories were nearly nonexistent. The only things he could recall were his name and a few painful fragmented images of his father falling prey to a powerful Akrid known as “Green Eye”. Now lost in a world not knowing who to trust, Wayne must struggle to retrieve his past and seek the truth behind the mysterious mechanism on his arm which converts Thermal Energy for use directly into his body

Name: Cold Reality Trailer
Price: Free
Available in: All Xbox Live Regions.
Dash Details: Rick, Luka and Yuri comprise the small band of Snow Pirates with whom Wayne now lives. Luka seeks to rid the world of the hostile Akrid, the only force which keeps humans from transforming ice-covered E.D.N. III into a planet that can be colonized. Now with the addition of pilot Wayne Holden to the team, Luka is more determined than ever to wipe out the Akrid scourge nest by nest. Wayne is willing to help because, while he cannot recall very much, he does remember how to pilot a Vital Suit and how to survive at any cost.

This content will be availble for Xbox Live Silver members on 11/20/06

That last sentence gave it away: Xbox Live Silver members won’t see this trailer until the 20th of November. This can either be a blessing, or a double-edged sword.

On one end, you have the XBL Gold members that are all for it – it gives them something else to look forward to after paying the subscription fees, it’s another leg up so to speak. On the other hand, though, you have the Silver members who were under the impression that the only difference between Gold and Silver was online gameplay. Either way, it’s good to see them trying new things and seeing how they work out, but I do feel bad for the Silver users right now… Excuse me while I go and download those trailers!

I almost forgot: our friend DeaconBlade 360 from Unscripted360 actually had hands-on with the title, so if you want to see some first-hand info about the game that everyone loves lately, make sure to check out his Lost Planet: Hands On at Unscripted360. His take: “I wanted to pass the word around to you guys to head out and pre-order this game RIGHT NOW.”

That says enough for me.
