Bethesda Softworks to dethrone GRAW with Rogue Warrior?

Bethesda has finally announced Rogue Warrior for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. I’d go into detail about the type of game it’s going to be, but I think the official press release can do a better job…

Rogue Warrior is a story-driven shooter that provides team-based tactical combat set in massive, contiguous levels using Unreal 3 streaming technology. Central to the game’s single and multiplayer experience is the idea of a freeform battlefield, where players are given the freedom to choose how to complete a given objective, allowing for creativity and surprises, rather than heavily scripted events and tightly contained spaces traditionally used in this genre.

We’ve all seen what Unreal 3 is capable of due to Gears of War, so expecting awesome graphics from this one isn’t too far out of line. Will it be able to break down the GRAW juggernaut? Time will tell, but it’s looking pretty nice in the screens.
