Xbox Live Down for the Count Today

Well, it’s happened. Microsoft has flipped the switch on Xbox Live for the day, adding fixes for the gaming network. Unfortunately, there’s not going to be a Dashboard update to coincide with the downtime says Major Nelson.

You can read the official posting on Xbox.com that explains what to expect…and more importantly what NOT to expect…specifically, when the service comes back online you will NOT have a dashboard update.

If we won’t have a dashboard update, is this downtime in preparation for a future update? Maybe there’s more going on with the Live service than the Major can talk about…

Either way, if you’re at terms with what to do since you can’t get on Live today, I suggest knitting!
