Judge tells Take-Two to bring him Bully
Never in the history of gaming has a judge ever asked to review a game before it’s release  and that is going to happen here tomorrowâ€Â. Those were the words spoken by grown-up gaming’s arch-nemesis, Jack Thompson, after A Miami Judge orders Take-Two to produce a copy of Bully for his personal review.I don’t know about anyone else, but Jack Thompson has become more than a thorn in my side. Being a gamer who grew up watching gory movies with flagrant language, it’s really annoying when someone makes it their life’s crusade to destroy your fun. The entire fiasco in the news about games making kids violent has only made them a scapegoat by demented people who know exactly what they’re doing. Not to mention that due to the topic being present in the news nearly nonstop because of Mr. Thompson’s berating, it’s becoming more and more useful by lawyers defending said demented people when presenting their case.
There’s nothing in gaming now that hasn’t been done in countless movies over the last twenty or thirty years. GTA was, when you think about it, a satire of about every mob movie ever made. When will someone get it through Jack Thompson’s head? People who grow up with games are probably going to like the idea of playing through a movie.
Does that make them crazy? Not by any means. Unfortunately though, Jack Thomson believes it does – and he’s out to ruin it for the rest of us.
